Do not be tired in serving . .

‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up’

Galatians 6:9

Serving means ‘to be of help’, ‘rendering assistance’ to believers and non-believers alike; emanating and exuding the love of Christ! There may come a time or season when you become ‘weary’, ‘tired’, ‘exhausted’ – you may feel that serving and your service is a chore or has become a mundane routine.

Being a servant of Christ and serving the Lord requires time, dedication, righteousness, patience, long-suffering & even leaving your comfort zone. Yielding to the one who called us requires total obedience and can even mean forsaking your usual amenities.

He showed us that he was the ultimate example which still resonates to our present time today.

Philippians 2;7-8 shows this:

rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

We have been called as believers in Christ to keep doing good, what is noble, and right & at the right time – we shall reap the reward if we do not give up. There is a clause for the reward we wish to obtain if we do not give in or give up.

It may be hard but keep your gaze on Christ – situations in life may want to negate you off your course / path but He is there to strengthen us when weak. The Holy Spirit who dwells within you is there to intercede, be an advocate, encourage and spur you to keep going in the midst of trials and even temptations.

Your inheritance awaits you in Heaven – Colossians 3:24

you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving’.

Do not be tired but be encouraged – forge onwards & upwards like the Apostle Paul who pressed on for he knew the ‘great gain’ which he was to receive in Heaven by continually winning souls for the Kingdom.

How glorious would it be to be adorned with the Crown from your Heavenly Father!

Keep going in your service and ministry with renewed vigour for you know what awaits you at the end!

Remain blessed,

The Master’s Quill
